Nintendo shows off what Miis will look like in Switch Sports
Nintendo Switch Sports, a spiritual successor to Wii Sports, will allow players to create and play with unique avatars. But that doesn’t mean Miis is going anywhere.
In Nintendo Switch Sports, players can create a Sports Mate, a detailed avatar that they can create and customize. But in the original Wii Sports, players could use Miis as their sports partner. Well, they still can in Nintendo Switch Sports.
In the official Nintendo Switch Sports trailer, Nintendo detailed the process of creating a Sports Mate. But for Miis fans, you can still use your custom avatar, although their head will be attached to the body in a bit more detail as you can see in the image below.
You might want to create a Sports Mate.
Joking aside, it’s great that the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports will have the option to use a Sports Mate or Mii avatar.
Although not a direct sequel, Nintendo Switch Sports will bring more motion-controlled sports Mini game for Switch. Nintendo will also be adding new sports games post-launch with golf scheduled for Fall 2022.
Wii Sports is an iconic game for the Wii era and was popular for Nintendo’s home console. Nintendo followed up with the Wii Sports Resort, which used the Wii Motion Plus’s greater precision for even more games. Check out our reviews for Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort here.
