Tournament players are asked to follow ridiculous rules and not mention disrespect of doctors on Twitch
A $100,000 tournament hosted by Dr Dispect had Twitch broadcasters follow some ridiculous rules of not mentioning him because he was previously banned on the platform.
Jake Lucky of Full Squad Gaming shared a summary of these Twitch community guidelines posted in-house by the event organizer, BoomTV.
“Your channel is not allowed to knowingly refer or advertise to a suspended user,” the notice reads. “We understand that there may be instances where suspended users may appear on your stream due to circumstances beyond your control, such as through third-party gaming tournaments, but we hope you’ll do your best to remove them from your broadcast, mute or limit their interaction with your stream.”
The message then shared some “helpful tips for navigating this tournament if you’re a Twitch streamer:”
- Using the “Hot Shot Duo Drop feature Fortnite“to refer to the event.
- Users give DrDisosystem other names, for example “two-time champion”, “Blockbuster video game champion”.
- Hide DrDisosystem images, videos and streams from your stream.
- Mute DrDisionary in-game.
- Be aware of the tournament/match page display on the stream.
As mentioned before, here is a summary of the categories Twitch Community Guidelines for Suspension of evasion.
The guidelines say: “Additionally, it is strictly forbidden to use your channel to intentionally refer or promote suspended users.” “We understand that there may be instances where suspended users may appear on your stream due to circumstances beyond your control, such as through third-party gaming tournaments, but we hope you’ll do your best to remove them from your broadcast, mute or limit their interaction with your stream.”
Dr Disability was banned on Twitch in June 2020, but the official reason as to why has not been revealed yet. Reply, Dr. Dispect sued Twitch. He will eventually settle the case, but said he has no intention of returning to the platform.
Currently, Dr Disosystem is streaming on YouTube and also founded an AAA game studio with former Halo and Call of Duty developers.
