“When they START, I’ll be back” to fight Oleksandr Usyk
Via Charles Brun: Tyson Fury says they will need to beg him to retire to face unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk after he beat Anthony Joshua in their rematch on August 20.
Now retired WBC belt holder Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) predicts that Joshua will lose in a rematch next month to IBF/WBA/WBO champion Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) , and once that happens, “Beseeching” will need to start letting him retire to take on the undefeated champion. He also said that he wanted to be paid well.
With Fury needing to be begged and given a ball of dough to fight Usyk, it doesn’t seem worth it for promoters and fans to enjoy the big 6’9″ ‘King of Gypsy’.
Fans speculated that Fury was afraid of Usyk because he knew he was going to lose to the talented unification champion. Fury wants to beg and pay the king’s ransom to be retired to face Usyk, confirming that he doesn’t think he can win.
“He lost again, then they will call for Achilles back,” Tyson Fury told talkSPORT, predicts Anthony Joshua will lose in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on August 20. “And I would say, ‘Get f****, I’m retired.’
“And after that, when they START, I’ll be backbut it will be very expensive. “
“Anthony Joshua is an asshole, and I’m going to take him down,” Fury continued. “If he beats Oleksandr Usyk, he has to fight me for free in England. Free TV.
“30 million people will watch it for free. There is no PPV. Didn’t earn money. We do this for the UK fans,” Fury said.
The problem with those promoting Fury with a mountain of cash to retire to fight Usyk is that the fight will likely only yield significant numbers in the UK. Without a big American star like Deontay Wilder, Fury couldn’t pull on American soil.
Fury-Usyk won’t be a big fight in America, and it won’t sell if they try and sell it on pay-per-view. It’s up to the promoters if they want to give Fury big cash to get him back in the ring.
Let Fury focus on his exhibition fights with heavyweight Francis Ngannou and UFC heavyweight Thor.
Let Fury retire because he’s boring to watch anyway with his dull fighting style, which includes a lot of grappling and relying on his opponents to knock them out with a 270 bear-like frame + his lb.
Fury is right about Joshua losing his rematch with Usyk because he’s not on the same level as the talented former cruiser class champion.
It doesn’t matter who Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) has in the corner to train him; he’s not good enough to beat Usyk.
