Via Sean Jones: WBO middleweight champion Demetrius ‘Ugly’ Andrade (30-0, 18 KOs) is confident he will stop the offense of fringe rival Jason Quigley (19-1, 14 KOs) and easily beat him this Friday, November 19 in their fight over DAZN at SNHU Arena, Manchester, New Hampshire.
Andrade wanted to take on an opponent 30 years older than Quigley, but this was all his promoters could win for him.
Demetrius was unlucky to have Jermall Charlo, Canelo Alvarez, or Gennadiy Golovkin step onto the plate to fight him.
As a result, Andrade must continue to fight Quigley, Liam Williams, Luke Keeler, and Maciej Sulecki while waiting for those guys to finally look his way.

Demetrius was not pleased with Jermall Charlo

“This is what it takes and to be and there are life changing situations and for me too. Either of those guys will be able to fight me more and I’ll make more money.
“That’s what we’re into. So how many times will we repeat the same saying, ‘Demetrius this, Demetrius that.’ All these excuses because now Canelo says I’m a horrible boxer, and now Charlo wants to say it?
“Why? Because the average fan doesn’t really know much about me because I’m not the most popular boxer outside of the mainstream? Great, but once people catch on and see what I am Now they say, ‘Let’s fight.
“Inside boxing, they always know each style creates a different fighting style. I’m going to bring a different style to the occasion because I know I need to beat someone up,” Andrade said.
WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) seemed to play it safe, waiting for Canelo Alvarez to pick him as he did with Sergey Kovalev and Caleb Plant.
Charlo wouldn’t risk a $10 million + day salary that he could fight Canelo against a dangerous fighter like Demetrius Andrade by sending him into a united war. If Jermall turns down $7 million to fight Andrade, that tells you he believes he can get more out of it fighting Canelo or Gennady Golovkin.
It’s not rocket science why Charlo hasn’t shown an interest in fighting Andrade. Charlo doesn’t want to lose that payday to Canelo or GGG against Demetrius.
Trust me; If Jermall thinks he can beat Andrade with 100% certainty, he will choose him over fighting unknown fighters Juan Macias Montiel, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Dennis Hogan, Brandon Adams and Matt Korobov in the past three years.
Charlo played it safe, easy money fighting into SHOWTIME while waiting for the big Canelo cashout fight. Demetrius’ name would mean more on Charlo’s résumé, but he’s not sure he can beat him. As a result, Andrade is being avoided due to him being too risky with Charlo.
Jermall won’t mess up his revenue stream fighting Demetrius and potentially losing.
Demetrius got stuck fighting Quigley
“I think because he was the only one willing to step up, and I think he fought in a knockout against Sugar Shane Mosley Jr.,” Demetrius Andrade said of why he fought. with Jason Quigley this Friday.

It’s a pity that all of Matchroom boxing promoters Eddie Hearn might be rallying to face Andrade on November 19 as limited boxer Jason Quigley. This guy is said to be a step down from Andrade’s ultimate rival Liam Williams, who used to be a ham & eggs hand.
Quigley is on par with Andrade’s past rival Luke Keeler and not as good as Maciej Sulecki, Artur Akavov or Walter Kautndokwa. We did not see an improvement in the quality of Andrade’s competitors.
It seems that the level of opposition that Andrade is enjoying is decreasing rather than increasing, which is keeping him from becoming a worldwide star.
If Andrade can take out Canelo Alvarez, Gennadiy Golovkin and Jermall Charlo in 2022, he will become a superstar overnight. Unfortunately, those guys will probably avoid Andrade like the plague because they don’t want to lose.
If this were the NFL or NBA, those fighters would MUST go up against Demetrius because it would be part of the league’s game.
Teams can’t choose who they want to face based on threat level, but in boxing that’s the way it’s done, that’s why you get champions like Canelo who aren’t the best man.
It’s the careful combination of smoke, and mirroring to create a false image of him as the best. In fact, Canelo will likely lose to Andrade, Golovkin and David Benavidez.
Andrade confidently defeated Canelo
“Yes, you can’t sit here and fight against the toughest guys, but it will come to that point. I’m not young anymore and I don’t want to do this until I’m 40. This is not the life I was talking about at that age,” Andrade said.
“I’m going to keep trying and knocking on these doors, and hopefully, the team can put these together with Matchroom and DAZN and make these matches go and whatever needs more money.
