Jeep introduces more concepts ahead of Easter Safari 2022

Jeep car introduced many unique concept cars before The 56th Annual Easter on Jeep Safari in the desert of Moab.

Held from April 9 to April 17, the event is by far one of the largest gatherings of Jeep owners worldwide.

The American automaker has previously said it uses the event to showcase “some one-of-a-kind Jeep concept vehicles” designed by Jeep and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP), as they did. doing for a number of years now.

In 2021, Jeep used this event to showcase the all-electric Wrangler Magneto concept powered by an axial flux electric motor and using a traditional six-speed manual transmission.

One of the latest Jeep concepts seems to be a special version of the Wrangler Rubicon 392 with a 20 badge on the side of the bonnet. It also has large, knobbly tires.

Said to celebrate a car that debuted 20 years ago and was “the most productive production car at the time”. This car should be the Wrangler Rubicon, revealed in 2003.

It is not yet clear whether the car will be a one-off concept or if it will be a special edition car that goes on sale in the 2023 model year.

The second Jeep concept is designed to provide a Fightertray styling in a more compact body, about the same size as the Wrangler and offering “four-wheel drive confidence and a little outdoor freedom”.

“What if a truck dared to be more like an SUV to increase the departure angle?” Ask Jeep about this teased concept.

The teaser image shows once again the large, crowned tires and the Rubicon badge on the side of the bonnet. What makes this different are its large side holes where doors are usually located.

The concept is expected to be a stripped-down Gladiator Prince with a smaller bed, likely like the forward-looking Jeep FC-150 from the 1950s and 60s.

The third and latest teaser is what it looks like to be inspired by the military Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

Jeeps say the concept “pays homage to a Jeep of the past”.

In the teaser image, the car has a classic army green camouflage paintwork with knobby tires and army green steel wheels.

Jeep has introduced an electric SUV PHEV 4car, which looks based on the new generation Grand Cherokee.

The automaker says the concept car can “conquer even the most tumultuous terrain along the trails of the Moab countryside and further accentuate the Jeep brand’s vision of achieving get free air”.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission, producing a total system output of 280kW and 637Nm of torque.

It has also teased about what looks like a Gladiator in the past, but stylized with a QR code styled design.

It’s not clear exactly what the concept will be but it could use Jeep Performance Parts that could turn it into a F-150 Raptor-rivalling, baja-ready off-roader.

Looking to the future, a Gladiator 4xe PHEV to launch in 2024, according to the report. Jeep global boss Christian Meuiner previously said he wants to bring more trams to Australia.

“I will push for electrification as a leader, not a follower,” Mr. Meuiner said.

“We will not be behind the others, we will be the first and we will do everything we can in all [APAC] land.”

Mr. Meuiner said markets such as Australia, Japan and South Korea “will quickly become electrified”.

An undisclosed source from Stellantis told Mopar Insiders The Gladiator 4xe will be powered by the same PHEV powertrain currently used in the Wrangler 4xe.

This PHEV powertrain in the Wrangler 4xe is identical to that in the Grand Cherokee 4xe.

At Stellantis EV Day rollout in July 2021, Mr. Meunier also announced Jeep will have an all-electric model in every segment by 2025.

By 2025, Jeep plans to make 70% of its total sales electric, ranging from mild-hybrid to all-electric.

The automaker also used EV Day to preview features it might offer in the future, like vehicle-to-vehicle charging, drone pairing, and biometric recognition. as well as something simpler: the front seats fold flat to form a bed.

It also hints that it could roll out autonomous off-road driving by 2030, as well as a function that could let you park your Jeep while you track it from a distance.

We’ll have to wait and see if Jeep introduces any of these autonomous features at its 2022 annual Easter Safari.

Meanwhile, the next-generation Grand Cherokee will land in Australia with a long wheelbase, seven seats Grand Cherokee previous trick. At this stage, it is expected to launch in mid-2022.

The 2022 Grand Cherokee L will start at $82,250 before on-road costs, and the range is powered only by a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine that produces 210kW of power and 344Nm of torque.

The five-seat ‘regular’ Grand Cherokee and all 4xe variants will launch from the second half of 2022.
