OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro Android 12 Based OxygenOS 12 Update Bug, Facing Backlash
The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro’s Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 update, which rolled out earlier this week, is riddled with bugs and users are using different platforms to express their frustrations. While some early adopters said that the update did not bring all the promised features, others said that some features were dropped. In addition, there are complaints about various bugs that cause problems for users. OnePlus users have been advised not to install the update, and those who have already installed it have been provided with a way by a community expert to roll back to Android 11.
OnePlus 9″ and OnePlus 9 Pro installed users update and are facing the problems that have brought Reddit, Twitter, and OnePlus Forums to question the stability of the OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12. They said that the update was full of bugs, didn’t have the promised features, and some of the features were also removed. Early adopters say they can’t customize icons, status bar, battery icon, or turn off Google Feed.
Meanwhile, a Community Expert on OnePlus The forum has shared instructions for restoring OxygenOS 12 to OxygenOS 11 (via local OTA update) for those who are having issues. The post, shared by Abdul B. from OxygenOS Operations, provides download links for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro recovery packages for the Indian, North American, and European markets. He also says that the upgrade method will erase all content and advises OnePlus users to back up their data first.
Previous crashes suggest OnePlus may release a fix for the buggy update. Incidentally, the OxygenOS 11 update is based on Android 11 for OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro also has bugs and OnePlus must release a hotfix.
