Pakistan U19 Cricket captain Qasim Akram stole the limelight during his team’s 5th place match against Sri Lanka in progress ICC U19 World Cup 2022. Akram hit beautifully to maintain an undefeated record in 135 runs and then returned to haunt Sri Lankan smashers with the ball when he also claimed a memorable 5-stroke. This all-out effort helped Pakistan overtake Sri Lanka in the last 238 runs. The ICC shared an Instagram post revealing that Akram’s feat of a century and five goals in the same game is the first of its kind in the tournament’s history.

“First player in #U19CWC history to score a century and hit the five-goal mark in the same game! Pakistan’s Qasim Akram has certainly made his mark at the tournament.”
Hit the first ball, Pakistan scored 365/3 points in their 50 passes. In addition to Akram, Haseebullah Khan also scored an undefeated ton while opener Muhammad Shehzad played superbly with 73 runs.
In response, Akram broke the opposition’s backbone when he cheaply removed the top five to set up the game for his team.
Akram also played a role in Anjala Bandara’s escape to end a historic day.

On the other hand, India U19 will meet England U19 in the final of the tournament on Saturday.
India beat Australia in the semi-finals while England overcame Afghanistan to book a place in the final scheduled to take place at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound in Antigua.
