Williams announces multi-year contract extension with Alex Albon
Alex Albon will continue to race for Williams until at least 2024 after signing a multi-year deal to stay with the Formula One team.
Albon has replaced George Russell at Williams this year after spending 2021 without a seat in the race, due to a loss of control at Red Bull.

In announcing the news on Tuesday afternoon, Albon angered Oscar Piastri’s tweet a day earlier, when the Australian posted to say that Alpine announced him as their 2023 driver without permission.
Albon tweeted: “I understand that, with my agreement, Williams Racing has issued a press release this afternoon that I will be driving for them next year. This is true and I have signed Williams. in 2023. I’ll be driving for Williams next year.”
Albon is widely regarded as one of F1’s best young drivers and his return to Williams this season is seen by many as a well-deserved second chance for the 26-year-old.

American driver Logan Sargeant, who will make a practice session before US Grand Prix in October, was an outside hit to take Latifi’s seat. Sargeant is competing in this season’s Formula Two F1 feeder series.
